Application Situation
Welding of a metal plate to the pipe was not only time wasting but was not successful as the water keeps getting through the Welding of a metal plate to the pipe was not only time wasting but was not successful as the water keeps getting through the weld seams over time. Application of Belzona 1212 and subsequently Super Wrap II was not only fast but was able to curtail the leak for the time required before the planned plant shut down and production was not cut abruptly.
Application Method
The affected area was cleaned to the required level of cleanliness as stated in the products IFU and procedure for repairingThe affected area was cleaned to the required level of cleanliness as stated in the products IFU and procedure for repairing leaks in pipes (VPF-11) by abrasive blasting. Belzona 1212 was used to cover both the weld seams and the metal plate before wrapping with Belzona super wrap II kits.
