Application Situation

The customer had two units in this location that they use to power the western side of the city. They could not have this transformer unit grounded and off for long in case any problems arose with the other unit. Time was the essence for this repair.

Application Method

The oil was lowered a bit and then the surface was degreased as good as possible and abraded to create a rough surface. Belzona 1161 was mixed and applied around the bolts and the flange. Then Belzona 5831LT was applied to seal the entire surface. However, the next morning the customer applied pressure to the system, and they saw a few areas that needed to be reinforced. We decided to pack the whole area with 4141 and then apply 5831LT to encapsulate everything. The system was tested again, and no leaks were found.

We followed up on the repair one month later and the system is operating without leaks.
